Third Conditional

1. ¿Qué es el Third Conditional?

El Third Conditional se usa para hablar de situaciones hipotéticas en el pasado que no sucedieron, y sus posibles resultados.

Fórmula:
If + Past Perfect, … would have + Past Participle

2. Ejemplos con traducción

• If I had studied, I would have passed the exam.
  (Si yo hubiera estudiado, yo habría pasado el examen.)

• If she had left earlier, she wouldn’t have missed the bus.
  (Si ella hubiera salido más temprano, no habría perdido el bus.)

• If they had called me, I would have helped them.
  (Si ellos me hubieran llamado, yo los habría ayudado.)

• If we had known the truth, we would have made a different decision.
  (Si nosotros hubiéramos sabido la verdad, habríamos tomado una decisión diferente.)

3. Notas importantes

• En la parte del if → usamos Past Perfect (had + participio).

• En la parte de la consecuencia → usamos would have + participio.

• El third conditional siempre se refiere a situaciones irreales del pasado.
